Cards2Warriors is a 503(c) nonprofit that bridges the isolation gap by sending cards of support and encouragement to individuals battling long-term illnesses and rare diseases.​ Join our mission to send 100,000 cards

We are seeking highly motivated and empathetic Media Relations Intern, Fundraising Intern, and Corporate Outreach Intern to support the development and execution of our 100,000 card mission. 


We welcome and encourage chronically ill individuals and caregivers to apply! We are an organization run primarily by illness warriors and caregivers, and we want to work with you! We are fully remote and committed to flexibility. 

Our hours are flexible based on your capacity, but we ask for at least a six-month commitment. We’ll happily sign off on service hours, provide letters of recommendation, or accommodate academic requirements as needed. These are unpaid internships.


Key Responsibilities

Help us reach our ambitious goal of sending 100,000 cards by driving efforts to grow our donor base and funding streams.

Donor Research & Prospecting

  • Identify individual, corporate, and foundation donor prospects aligned with our mission.

  • Compile and maintain a donor prospect database with notes on giving history, interests, and capacity.

Fundraising Campaign Support

  • Assist in developing and executing seasonal or mission-driven fundraising campaigns.

  • Support social media and email outreach with donor-centered messaging.

  • Brainstorm creative fundraising ideas in collaboration with the team.

Grant & Proposal Support

  • Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and health-related organizations.

  • Assist with drafting, editing, and organizing grant proposals and reports.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Help maintain communication with donors through thank-you emails, impact updates, and special recognition efforts.

  • Track and report donor engagement metrics and feedback.

Reporting & Insights

  • Track all fundraising activities and results. Provide regular reports on campaign performance, donor engagement, and funding trends.


Qualifications

  • Background or interest in Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or related fields. Current or recent college study is preferred.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

  • Comfortable with outreach and relationship building.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Lived experience as an illness warrior and/or caregiver is preferred.

  • You will need to provide your own computer and Wi-Fi.
